Daily Success
New business pitches, beauty parades, presentations, interviews, conference speaking, meetings, talking to the media ... they’re all the same!
Although specific focus is needed for each situation, You brand Coaching doesn’t deal in hints and tips. It centres on the fundamentals of how to perform yourself, wherever you are.
Because it’s this that makes your technical expertise accessible to people and allows your talent to shine; that gives you the open, self-aware confidence to really listen to them; that engages people, makes them listen to you, believe you, trust you and want to do business with you.
Our coaching will support you in ...
Pitches and beauty parades
-
having the impact and credibility of performing ‘without strings’ and looking like a team
-
making real connection with your content and with the client’s needs, and pressing the right emotional as well as intellectual buttons
-
engaging the client through the personality behind the technical expertise
-
realistically assessing their position in the buying decision process and pitching accordingly
-
transcending a formal pitch setting, and not being beguiled by the apparent casualness of that ‘pitch over a cup of coffee’
Presentations and conference speeches
-
communicating the colours of your personality and staying focused
-
speaking without script or autocue
-
influencing what the audience thinks and feels, and what it then does
-
appearing fresh and spontaneous, and making every audience feel special
-
re-thinking if and how to use visual ‘aids’
Meetings and day-to-day interactions
-
understanding the psychology and dynamics of face-to-face interaction
-
talking with people rather than at them
-
breaking down the walls of silo agendas and opening up real communication and negotiation
Interviews and promotion panels
-
getting in touch with and articulating what really motivates you
-
thinking through the impact you wish to have and gearing every aspect of your performance to it
-
projecting the real ‘you’ to engage hearts and minds
-
avoiding that sinking feeling, when you leave the interview room, of “Oh hell, why did I do that?!”
Living the brand
-
establishing real emotional connection with your company’s core values
-
expressing this connection in a way that is consistent yet highly personal from one individual to the next
-
reframing and revitalising the company brand
Talking with the media
-
understanding the journalist’s view of what makes a good interview
-
bringing your You brand to bear in developing a productive relationship with your interviewer (TV, radio or print)
-
gaining invaluable, safe experience in a range of interviews

I concentrated on what I had learned on my coaching and tried to be more energetic and charismatic, making more use of pauses, emphasis and humour. On the day the presentation felt very different - we engaged with the audience very easily and overran at their instigation. We heard on Friday we had won the work for this £300m scheme. Feedback was that I and the team had really "struck a chord".
